Adidas has officially confirmed it’s partnership with Kanye West.
According to Complex, the sneaker brand expressed their enthusiasm for the collaboration in a statement released today.
“For 2014, we welcome to the Adidas family one of the most influential cultural icons of this generation, Kanye West. Well known for breaking boundaries across music, film, and design and partnering with our history in street wear culture and leading innovations in sport; we look forward to creating a new chapter. Details to follow.”
Last week Kanye openly discussed that he would be parting ways with Nike and would be joining forces with Adidas. The rapper accused Nike of stifling his creative freedom, and failing to offer him decent royalties on his Air Yeezy shoe.
“I took the Adidas deal because I have royalties and I have to provide for my family.” said the rapper.
The deal is West’s latest venture into the fashion world; there is no word yet on what exactly the line will feature.
