After winning an Emmy (and delivering that speech!) for her role as the ever-complex Annalise Keating on How to Get Away with Murder, we can only hope that Viola Davis wins the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series Drama, too!
(note: Taraji is in the same category and oh, how we wish that they could both win!)
The cast of Empire will compete in the Best Television Series, Drama, category while scene-stealer, Taraji P. Henson, has her sights set on the coveted award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama, for her spot-on portrayal of Cookie Lyon.
(note: Viola is in the same category and we’ve got our fingers crossed for her, too)
Along with the colorful cast of Orange is the New Black earning a nod for Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy, Uzo Aduba has nabbed her second nod for Best Performance by an Actress in a Series, Limited Series of Motion Picture Made for Television. We sure hope this year is her year!
(note: Uzo is up for the same statue as Regina King and we’ve got our fingers crossed for them both!)
After earning rave reviews (and his first Golden Globe nomination) for his lead role in Selma, David Oyelowo followed up with Nightingale and delivered a performance that was northing short of transformative. For his efforts, he’s scored his second nod, this time for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. The Golden Globes air this Sunday, Jan 10 at 8pm ET on NBC.
