Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons’ baby girl is Harvard bound. Aoki Lee Simmons announced in a tearful video on Instagram that she was accepted into Harvard University at just 16 year old.
Sitting at a mahogany desk, Aoki looks at the screen displaying the Harvard website and weeps as her mother screams in excitement in the background.
“Omg! Do you want to go there>” her mother asks her as she sheds tears of joy, barely eking out a “Yes.” From behind the camera, her mother asks her jokingly, “Are you sure?”
In a caption, Aoki celebrated the accomplishment, writing: “I’m only 16 and I’m going to Harvard baby! Insert emotional crying face.”
She then revealed that her mother joked, “‘Thank God you got in on your own honey ’cause you can’t row.”‘”
The comment was a dig at the college admissions scandal, where Lori Laughlin’s daughters pretended to be members of the crew team in order to get admitted into University of Southern California.
“Thank you so much to every single person who helped me along the way. I am excited and honored and so so grateful. #harvard2023,” Aoki concluded.

Her mother, Kimora, also posted a video of Aoki’s little brother Kenzo reading the admissions letter aloud before being embraced by his big sister.
Aoki’s older sister, Ming Lee, commented on the video, “I am once again the lesser child. But that’s okay. I’m so so so proud of you my baby. You worked so hard and no one deserves this more than you.”
Angela Bassett also shared in the excitement, writing in the comments: “I am so proud of you! Congratulations!!!”
Congrats Aoki!
