Since his untimely passing, many have paid tribute to Prince. During their annual spring gala, earlier this month, the historic Apollo Theater also paid homage to the late artist.
The night began with an outdoor ceremony, inducting Prince in the Apollo Theater Walk of Fame. Prince is now revered with legends such as Maceo Parker and Meli’sa Morgan. Present to unveil the plaque was Prince’s prodigy, Andy Allo.
Led by LL Cool J, who served as master of ceremony, stars gathered inside the theater for a night of music, directed by Ray Chew. According to BillBoard, Harlem turned “fifty shades of purple,” in remembrance of Prince’s legacy.
