Today’s Black girls are able to see themselves in the Vice President-Elect for the very first time. Kamala Harris walked on that stage and into the history books creating meaningful representation for a generation. Ciara and her three-year-old daughter Sienna Wilson celebrated Kamala Harris’ win in a video she posted to Instagram.
“How amazing is it that the first woman Vice President is in the White House? And she’s also a woman of color,” said Ciara to her baby girl in the clip.
“It’s so powerful. We can do anything we put our minds to, right,” she asked.
“We can do anything we put our minds to!,” confirmed Sienna while smiling widely.
“Go girls, go everybody!,” added the adorable child before returning to chomp on the top of her pretty pink thermos.
Sienna is the middle child of the Wilson clan. Ciara and her husband, NFL superstar Russell Wilson, share newborn Win Harrison Wilson, and Future Zahir Wilburn (Wilson’s bonus child).
The spirited toddler took her excitement a step further by taking it upon herself to suddenly declare the end of the global pandemic. “And, and the COVID’s over!,” she exclaimed. “It is!”
Ciara quickly explained that Miss Rona’ hadn’t quite packed her bags yet.
“No, no COVID’s not quite over, sunshine,” she told her daughter. “But! I believe that Joe Biden, President Biden is going to be the right president to get us on the right track.”
Biden is planning to dramatically shift the national pandemic response immediately after being inaugurated, CNN reports. “The pandemic is getting significantly more worrisome all across the country,” he reportedly said. “I want everyone to know on day one, we’re going to put our plan to control this virus into action.”
Here’s to us all manifesting a little bit of that childlike Sienna magic.
