Ayesha Curry is adding to her already lengthy resume and opening up her very first permanent restaurant.
With her own Food Network show, cookbook, and most recently, meal-kit delivery service, the wife of NBA superstar Steph Curry revealed on Instagram on Sunday she has even bigger plans for her love of cooking.
“Well… the word is out. I will be opening up my first restaurant in SF!!!,” Curry wrote. “I can’t scream loud enough how grateful and humbled I am by this blessing! Thank you Jesus! It’s been so hard to keep this to myself and I’m so happy to finally share the news.”
Due to the success of Curry’s pop-up restaurant, International Smoke, with chef Michael Mina in 2016, the pair was able to develop as a permanent flagship restaurant of the same name in San Francisco’s Millennium Tower. The eatery is expected to open in the fall.
The “lighter” barbecue dishes will be similar to what was served at Curry’s pop-up: St. Louis pork ribs, Singapore-style black pepper barbecue lobster, slow-cooked char sui pork shoulder and spicy merguez sausage served with purple potato salad, braised mustard greens and onion rings, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
“One thing I’m not worried about is the aesthetic or the deliciousness of the food,” Curry said. “I just want to … take my game to the next level.”
Curry will begin as a member of the kitchen staff and the operating team behind the scenes.
“Nothing brings people together like food,” Curry says. “Nothing brings family together like BBQ… elevated!”
