The track is a remix of a song from the hit musical, and is part of a series of “Hamildrops” with funds going to charity.
Although it’s his first time of the Hot R&B Songs chart, this isn’t Obama’s first time charting on Billboard.
According to the music magazine, the former president appeared on two now-defunct charts. In March 2009, Obama landed at No. 6 on the TV DVD Sales chart with A Moment in History: The Inauguration of Barack Obama. And in 2015 he reached No. 10 on the Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart with “Pop Off,” by JX Cannon featuring Obama.
