With Jay-Z headlining as well as Solange performing at Made in America Festival in Philadelphia this past weekend, it was pretty inevitable that Beyoncé was going to be in attendance. And since we’ve been practically stalking every sighting of the singer since she gave birth to twins Sir and Rumi earlier this summer, it’s safe to say we were excited.
But we weren’t the only ones who were excited. Cardi B, who also performed at the festival that was founded by Jay-Z, got the opportunity to meet Beyoncé backstage and was grinning from ear to ear. Cardi B’s caption on Instagram was even better: “BITCH I met Beyoncé Bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!”
The photo of the singer and rapper quickly went viral, but we couldn’t help but pay extra attention to the jacket Beyoncé chose to wear. Beyoncé wore a Gucci jacket over her t-shirt and denim shorts along with a Gucci hat, but it wasn’t just any Gucci jacket. It was the Gucci jacket that was first spotted on the runway at the luxury brand’s Resort 2018 show in May. The same one that went viral due to its striking similarities to a jacket that Dapper Dan had created back in the ‘80s. The same jacket that actually was later revealed by Gucci that it paid homage to the Harlem couturier.
Beyoncé is the first one we’ve spotted in the jacket since it hit the runway, and we’re pretty sure that was intentional.
