Beyoncé has never been big on the whole fashion month thing and all the street style pandemonium that surrounds it. In fact, while her fellow musicians make the high fashion rounds, it’s surprising if the pop superstar attends even one show out of the thousands she’s surely invited to each year. Perhaps that’s because for Queen B there’s no need for all the pomp and circumstance of attending the show when everyday is fashion week and the world is her runway, as she proved stepping out for a date with Jay Z on Monday night.

To grab dinner with her husband at Bagatelle in NYC, the Emmy nominee demonstrated the proper way to transition your all-denim summer ensemble into fall, adding a pricey, limited edition mink clutch from Ukrainian brand Blood & Honey, which retails for $1950, held across her thighs for a little added warmth. She also attempted the other major trend of the season, lampshading, wearing an oversized denim jacket that went down past her short-shorts to her mid-thigh for that perfectly “pantsless” look.
But while her outfit was pretty low-key, the singer really brought it in the accessory department, going for neon hues, funky textures and some quirky iconography. Beyoncé added a bold pop of color to her look with a pink camo-printed Ivy Park baseball cap, diamond chain choker, light blue Gucci T-strap peep toe heels with a picture of lips on the front, and the aforementioned fur bag that reads, “I Kiss Better Than I Cook.” Somehow, we doubt that the star does anything less than perfectly, but we’ll wait for Jay Z to verify her statement purse.
