Cardi B’s road to motherhood seems to be lined with gold.
First, she broke Billboard charts with her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, made an epic Saturday Night Live debut, then gave fans a Coachella performance to remember.
With all the major music moments out of the way, the history-making star announced she and fiancé Offset are expecting their first child together–and they already have a name for the little one!
“My dude named the baby,” she revealed Thursday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I really like the name.”
After some prodding from DeGeneres, the Bronx born rapper said she would remain tight-lipped about the name and let her hubby-to-be share the moniker when the time is right.
“I’m gonna let him say the name since he named the baby.”
Cardi B–born Belcalis Almanzar–confirmed that she was expecting a bundle of joy while on stage at SNL.
Many speculated that she and Offset, who proposed with an 8-carat ring in October after the two began dating in February 2017, were parents-to-be before she confirmed the news. After sharing her mommy-to-be status, she explained why she kept the news private for so long.
“This is why I did not wanted to say nothing,” she wrote in an Instagram story soon after sharing her baby bump. “People be so thirsty to scrutinize and try to destroy something that it suppose to be a blessing.”
On Twitter, she later posted that she’d keep thriving in order to not let her baby down.
I started winning when the whole world was doubting on me !think imma lose with my little baby counting on me ?
Although the 25-year-old nor the Migos member has confirmed the sex of their bundle of joy, who is believed to be due later this summer before Cardi goes out on tour with Bruno Mars, fans speculate it’s a girl.
