Get ready to fall out of your chair.
Over the weekend, rapper and actor bae Common and super woke attorney Angela Rye stepped out together on the Creative Arts Emmys red carpet and appeared to be a little more than friends. Yes, the new bae alarms sounded around the Internet and now rumors are circulating that they could be our newest Black love goals.
The political activist, analyst and ESSENCE Woke 100 alum was by Common’s side as he won the award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for “Letter to the Free” on the Emmy winning Ava DuVernay documentary, “13th.” You can’t deny that if it’s true they sure do make a dynamic duo.
Following his big win, Rye took to Instagram to pen a special note of congratulations to the ESSENCE Fest alum only furthering rumors that the two are an item.
“Super proud of this guy for having a big #EGO, which is not to be confused with a big ego. Here he is giving thanks to the Almighty for his Emmy just like he does for taking every breath, every single day. I’m thankful for his tremendous example of humility, leadership, kindness, and creativity. May we all be inspired to #WORKwoke. #heisSOdope #itsjustthebeginning #TonyhereheCOMES #soblessed Prov. 3:5-6 * (if you haven’t heard “Letter to the Free” you’re missing out…download post haste)”
ESSENCE reached out to Rye for confirmation, but neither she or Common has confirmed the rumors at this time. Fingers crossed.
