Little is known about the couples 2013 nuptials. Much to the surprise of many, who didn’t even know the actress was dating, Kerry and Nnamdi swapped vows in Hailey, Idaho that June.
Since tying the knot, Mr. and Mrs. Asomugha have welcomed two children. Their daughter, Isabelle Amarachi is 3-years-old and their son, Caleb Kelechi was born in October 2016.
“My husband says that I’m funnier since I became a mom, and that luckily I was pregnant when I did SNL because I was really funny,” she joked. “I think something about being a mom has made me let go even more of ideas of perfectionism, like when you’re pregnant you’re just not in control of anything. Like every day you’re like, ‘What am I today?’”
Kerry Washington stared in a Race, a broadway play, in 2009. According to the New York Daily News, the former NFL star attended the play with a friend and was instantly smitten. Upon meeting, the Scandal star said she “didn’t date athletes” to which he replied that he “didn’t date actresses.” They got together anyway and now have two children.
In 2016 Kerry had to come to the defense of their union when rumors surfaced that they were headed for divorce. The couple is notoriously private and didn’t address the rumors head-on, but the star did publicly state why she doesn’t discuss personal matters for the world to consume. “If I don’t talk about my personal life, it means I don’t talk about my personal life,” she explained. “That means not only did I not tell you when I was getting married, it also means if somebody has rumors about what’s going on in my marriage, I don’t refute them, because I don’t talk about my personal life.”
