The Real Housewives of Atlanta is back and we know you can’t get enough Kandi and Todd!
Our September cover star Kandi Burruss is a boss on all fronts and happily married to her husband, producer Todd Tucker. Here is a timeline of the couple’s six-year relationship.
There’s no better way to start a new year than with the love of your life popping the question, so Todd got down on one knee and asked Kandi to be his bride. The news was confirmed to PEOPLE that the line producer popped the question after the two had been together for 2 years.
In the midst of the holiday season, Todd’s mother, Miss Sharon, suffered a fatal stroke. The RHOAs star shared the news on Instagram that his mother was found unconscious and subsequently rushed to the hospital. She slipped into a coma and died a day later.
“Today I lost my partner, my ride or die my best friend!” he wrote on Instagram. “I don’t know what to do? I’m lost! My heart hurts so much! She was a fighter, a warrior for her son! It was me and her against the world! She’s in a better place!! Mom I love you to death! Rest in peace!”
Kandi, of course, was by Todd’s side through the tragedy.
Revealing the news to E!, the star said she was over the moon about welcoming a baby with her husband of 1 year.
“We’re so thrilled to announce the news of our bundle of joy, it’s a dream come true,” she told the outlet. The couple conceived with the help of IVF.
To celebrate the New Year in the best way possible, Kandi and Todd welcomed their first child together, a baby boy. Named Ace Wells, the newborns moniker honored Todd’s late mother, Sharon Wells. Taking a few months to adjust to having a little one around, the couple waiting until March to share a photo of their son who is just as cute as can be.
While on the way to Hawaii for a well-deserved vacation, the couple encountered a hiccup that involved them being unjustly removed from the plane. Chronicled the incident in a video on Instagram, she detailed what occurred during the incident. “#HawaiianAirlines just kicked us off for no reason,” she captioned a video retelling the incident. “This was so crazy & random! We were sitting in our seat & the gate ticketer came on & asked to see my ticket because it wasn’t showing up in their system. I gave him my ticket but it had our baggage claim checks on the back. “He never brought it back & the plane started rolling off. I asked the flight attendant where was my ticket & told him I needed the baggage claim ticket just in case my bags didn’t make the flight.”
In their one of many business ventures together, Kandi and Todd toasted to the official opening of their southern cuisine eatery, “The Old Lady Gang.” Named in honor of Kandi’s mother and aunts—Joyce, Bertha and Nora—the coming together of the Atlanta restaurant was a big part of Kandi and Todd’s RHOA plot line during season 9.
Right on time for her husband’s 44th birthday, the singer threw him a party to remember with a JAY-Z themed celebration. The black and gold affair welcomed their famous friends and were serenaded by R&B singer Carl Thomas. No one throws a party like Kandi!
It’s not easy being a boss but Kandi Burruss makes winning look like a breeze. The entrepreneur, singer and reality star secured her first ESSENCE magazine cover after killing the 2017 ESSENCE Fest super lounge stage with her 90s R&B group Xscape, announcing a reunion tour with the group and announcing the premiere date of RHOA season 10.
Todd couldn’t help be proud of the lovely lady in his life.
“I want to congratulate my wife @kandi for all of her big announcements this week,” he wrote in the caption. “She’s accomplished some amazing things and has more announcements coming! Like BadBoy she won’t stop…With all these blessings she remains humble! So while some hate she just continues to create, jobs for people, and a body of work that will inspire the world! @kandi congratulations you deserve it!”
