Michelle Obama shared a touching birthday message for her husband as he celebrated his 57th birthday on Saturday.
In the post, President Barack Obama can be seen looking out into the savannah.
“Happy birthday [Barack Obama]!” the former First Lady captioned the post. “The view is always better with you.”
The first Barack Obama Day also took place in Illinois on Saturday. The state’s legislature passed a law last year to designate each Aug. 4 as a commemorative holiday to celebrate the 44th president, according to USA Today.
The holiday is commemorative, meaning that it honors Obama without closing government offices.
Former vice president Joe Biden also posted a selfie with Obama to commemorate the president’s birthday. The photo was taken last week when the pair stopped by a bakery in Georgetown for lunch, The Hill reports.
Our lunches together were a highlight of every week at the White House. Last week's trip to @DogTagBakery was no different. Happy birthday to my brother, my friend, @BarackObama. pic.twitter.com/0faYjvnPW6
