Tamar Braxton Reportedly Files For Divorce From Husband Vincent Herbert
Tamar Braxton announced that her most recent album would be her last, so that she could take time off to work on her marriage, TMZ reports that the singer and reality star has filed for divorce from her husband, Vincent Herbert.
The Bluebird of Happiness singer and the music exec began dating in 2003 after being introduced by Braxton’s Grammy award-winning sister, Toni Braxton, and the two wed in 2008.
While the Herberts have maintained happiness for the cameras, having appeared on the WeTV reality show, Braxton Family Values, and their own spin off, Tamar and Vince —which is set to premiere season six on November 9— the pair have had their fair share of woes in recent years.
In 2016, the two allegedly had a domestic dispute that resulted in authorities being called to their Ritz Carlton Hotel suite in Atlanta. Soon thereafter, the former co-host of the daytime talk show The Real set the record straight that those reports were false.
“Just because somebody says something doesn’t make it law,” she told paparazzi in an airport interview. “I’m not even finna defend my relationship to anybody. Ever. This is a marriage. This is not my baby daddy. This is not my boyfriend. We don’t live together. This is my husband for 13 years…so everybody else can have several seats.”
This isn’t the only time the 40-year-old Grammy nominee had to defend her union with Herbert. The songstress dispelled rumors that there was trouble in their paradise in July 2016 by posting a video of the two cozied up as she sang in his ear.
Last month, Herbert was ordered to pay Sony a whopping $3.7 million for undelivered artists fees. A few weeks later, the couple put their nearly 14,000 square foot Calabasas mansion on the market for $15 million.
During their marriage, the couple welcomed a son, Logan, born in June 2013.
Neither Braxton nor Herbert have publically addressed news of the divorce filing.
