Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict showed their son what it means to champion a good cause, especially when it hits home.
The couple took their son, Cree, 6, to Santa Monica to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s where the family participated in the benefit walk to help bring awareness to the cause.
The event was important to the couple because Mowry’s great-grandmother has the disease, which is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S. according to the Alzheimer’s Association’s latest report. The report also shares that Black Americans are twice as likely as their White counterparts to develop Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Tia took to Instagram to share a picture of the family rocking their purple shirts during the walk.
The couple partnered with Aaron Kaplan, who was a producer on Mowry’s most recent sitcom gig, InstaMom, and Aaron’s wife Blaire who was the top fundraiser two years in a row for the event geared toward helping to end the disease.
It’s always beautiful and inspiring to see a family get together for a great cause.
