One of our favorite Black Hollywood couples is calling it quits.
Just days after Valentine’s day, Tisha Campbell-Martin announced that she’d filed for divorce from her husband, Duane Martin, after nearly three decades of marriage.
“After 27 years of being together and two amazing children, it pains me to announce that I’ve filed for divorce,” the 49-year-old wrote in a statement on Twitter. “It’s an emotional time and I graciously ask for privacy for me, our children and the rest of our family.”
The two married in 1996 and for many, they were a couple thought to last forever.
On YouTube in 2011, the Martin actress shared an amazing throwback video from their wedding day and it was definitely epic.
With bridesmaids like Tichina Arnold, Tasha and Sidra Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith and groomsmen like Will Smith and Kadeem Hardison, plus Martin Lawrence in attendance as a guest, their nuptials were a star-studded event.
Below we take a look back at the former couple’s love during happier times.

Will You Be Mine?
“I proposed to her at Denny’s,” Duane recounted on The Real in 2013. Tisha chimed in, “Here’s the thing, he asked me in the middle of the night to go to Denny’s and I was like, ‘oh man, it was a hard day at work, I’m really tired but ok, I’ll go with you.’ and then he gets out and he gets on his knees and I was like, what are you doing? What are you doing and he was like, ‘will you be my friend forever?'”

Laughter And Love
“It’s a lot of laughter, it’s a lot of understanding, it’s a lot of — you know — letting the other person be who they are,” Tisha once said. “We always have very positive people around us. People who are opinion leaders, people who hold us accountable for own actions. We really take that seriously.”

Parent’s Night Out
The couple welcomed two children during their union, sons Ezekiel and Xen.
As an infant, the couple’s son, Xen, was diagnosed with autism after receiving the Hepatitis B shot and in 2013, the star said that their son was no longer on the spectrum.
“Xen says that he’s not autistic anymore. This is my baby’s reality. Just so I can give you a perspective, Xen was non-verbal; he would flap his arms and rock back and forth. He’s never been in a special needs class because I wanted him to model after typical kids and now he’s a typical kid. He has a girlfriend and he is now speaking; you can’t shut him up. He says, ‘I used to be autistic and don’t be telling my girlfriend I used to be autistic either.’ So I’m blessed because we were able to catch it early.”

Making It Work
In 2013, Duane admitted that one of the keys to making their relationship work is having rules on how to resolve conflict.
“You gotta set rules, you gotta have rules on how to argue, recovery time, like all of that kind of stuff. Some things are not acceptable like we can’t go bed mad.”
