The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences handed out its honorary Oscars last Sunday, and the glamorous event had an unusual amount of star power this year.
Black Hollywood was present at the 11th annual Governors Awards as hopefuls showed face at the annual black-tie event. The Academy recognized filmmakers David Lynch and Lina Wertmüller, along with actor Wes Studi. Meanwhile, A League of Their Own star Geena Davis was awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her work in gender equality.
