Blue Ivy Carter is a mogul in the making!
Her famous parents are trademarking the five-year-old’s name for commercial use in products like beauty, fashion and electronics, according to TMZ.com.
The news comes just days after Beyonce broke the internet by announcing she was expecting twins. And the “Lemonade” star is making sure she is setting up her oldest daughter right. Sources claim the petition is close to being approved.
The trademark application apparently covers hair care, clothing and video games, among other possibilities. We can definitely see it!
This is not the first time the Carters have filed legal papers to own their daughter’s name. A legal bid to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 2012 was eventually denied.
“People wanted to make products based on our child’s name and you don’t want anybody trying to benefit off your baby’s name,” Jay Z told Vanity Fair in 2013. “It wasn’t for us to do anything; as you see, we haven’t done anything.”
It looks like that’s about to change!
