Cardi B has postponed all of her shows for the rest of May in order to fully recover from some recent plastic surgery.
“Cardi was overzealous in getting back to work. She didn’t take the time necessary to fully recover from her surgery,” her rep told E! News. “Her strenuous schedule has taken a toll on her body and she has been given strict doctors orders to pull out of the rest of her performances in May.”
The first show that the “I Like It” rapper canceled was in El Paso, Texas on Tuesday, and she will miss also miss her headline performance at the 92Q Spring Bling Festival in Baltimore, Maryland over Memorial Day Weekend.
“She’s very disappointed as she hates to let her fans down,“ her rep added.
Cardi revealed she got plastic surgery after giving birth to her daughter Kulture last year. The Grammy winner recently told fans at the Beale Street Musical Festival in Memphis, Tennessee earlier this month that she had undergone liposuction, and she shouldn’t really be performing.
“I should have canceled today,” she said while onstage at the festival. “I shouldn’t really be performing because moving too much is gonna f-ck up my lipo. But bitch, I’m still gonna get my motherf-cking money back. Let’s go!”
Cardi later said she changed her mind about sharing because she wanted to tell the truth.
“It was important for me because I don’t like lying about things,” she told E! News days later. “Like when you see somebody that had lipo, you think that they just go into the doctor’s and like boop, you come out and you look amazing, but it’s actually like a very long process—recovery. It actually takes like a little bit more than three or four months.”
