Kerry Washington made her way back to the red carpet in only a way she could – flawlessly!
The Scandal star and her husband Nnamdi Asomugha were warmly welcomed back into the spotlight on Thursday night after making their first appearance since the birth of their son, Caleb.
Both Washington and Asomugha spent the evening at the Ambassadors for Humanity Gala in celebration of Mellody Hobson and her husband George Lucas, who according to E! News, were honored for “embodying the Institute for Visual History and Education’s values and mission to promote tolerance and mutual respect.”

During the night’s event, which was thrown for benefit of the USC Shoah Foundation, Washington sang the praises of Hobson for her work to end domestic violence targeting women and girls.
“It is truly an honor to be here with you all at the Ambassadors for Humanity benefiting the USC Shoah Foundation,” she said. “It is a privilege to honor my friends George Lucas and Mellody Hobson. Tonight you will hear from Steven and others how amazing George and Mellody are. I will tell you this: I have known Mellody for many years. We met in our work together to end violence against women and girls, and I was quickly enamored with who she is, what she has accomplished, what she wears, how she walks in the world. She is a phenomenal human being—a great girlfriend,” she continued. “She is one of my guiding lights and personal heroes.”
The 39-year-old Emmy and Golden Globe nominee welcomed her first child, a daughter Isabelle, in 2014 and gave birth to Caleb in October.
Welcome back Kerry!
