Tamera Mowry-Housley is now mom to two little ones, so her time in the kitchen is devoted to what will keep her children eating and help make them happy and healthy.
Catching up with The Real co-host on Tuesday at an event to introduce five new delicious RAGÚ Homestyle pasta sauces, Housley shared how she helps translate her love of food into trying new things with her toddler in tow.

“Now that I’m a mom, meal preppring is very important to me,” she said. “I’ve learned through trial and error.”
For the working mom to almost 4-year-old Aden and nine-month-old Ariah, it’s all about getting the little ones to try new things even when there are a few hiccups along the way.
“Kids are most likely to eat what they help with or what they’ve cooked with,” she adds. “He likes to measure things, and dump things in bowls and stuff, so that’s helped me.”
Another trick Tamera has learned to keep her tiny chef coming back to the kitchen? Intrigue.
“I also got a fun little tip from a friend: you can acutally color the food sometimes! Put some coloring in some rice or cauliflower, color it and they’ll eat it or at least try it. All you have to do is get your child intrigues. Once they’re intrigued, it may take you five or seix times, but eventually they’ll at least try it.”
