For the thirteenth year, ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood uplifted and shined a light on Black women in cinema and television.
But the luncheon, held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Thursday, also had the best of Black Hollywood in the building, from The Photograph star Issa Rae to Clemency star Alfre Woodard.
A few of these celebrities (OK, a lot of these celebs) stepped in front of the camera in our on-site portrait studio where beloved photographer Michael Rowe held it down. He captured the very essence, joy and fierceness of each woman and man, and of course we can’t get enough of the glamour. Even Cynthia Erivo, the only Black Oscar nominee this year, had an amazing time inside our portrait studio.
