The 71st Emmy Awards kicked off Saturday night with the first of the two-night Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony—and Black folk were in the building.
Big winners of the evening included RuPaul’s Drag Race which won for Outstanding Hairstyling, Outstanding Costumes and RuPaul Charles won for Outstanding Host for the fourth time in a row.
Other winners of the night include W. Kamau Bell for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program for his show United Shades of America.
HBO’s Leaving Neverland, which features two adult men who say they were sexually abused by Michael Jackson was named the best documentary.
