The viral #EgoChallenge has people openly rapping about their imperfections;on top of;Beyonce’s hit song “Ego.” Celebrities like Tamera Mowry-Housley, Danielle Brooks and Cynthia Erivo;are among those who have joined in on the rap challenge.
The challenge creator, 19-year-old Jane Oranika, toldBuzzFeed she started the movement in hopes that people will understand the importance of self-love, which she candidly shared through her own rap on the beat:
“People tend to focus on my physical appearance more than my words, so I wanted to address it… If we vocalize and normalize our differences, we can get past them and grow together,” she continued.
Her call for self-love has caused many others to spit about their insecurities throughout various social media platforms.
