Chance the Rapper blessed the NPR office with a special Tiny Desk performance, recently, that included a poem he’d written in the car ride to the office and a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “They Won’t Go When I Go.”
The poem, titled “The Other Side,” laments the luxuries available to the 24-year-old rapper that he has no use for. The poem was shared between performances of Coloring Book’s “Juke Jam” Wonder’s hit song.
Chance performed at ESSENCE Fest Sunday, wowing the crowd with “Same Drugs,” “Sunday Candy,” and “No Problems.”
