Chance The Rapper is activating his faith and his fan base to help his family.
The Chicago-bred husband and father reached out to his 8.2 million Twitter followers on Thursday to seek a kidney donation for his ailing aunt.
“I really need help. My Auntie Toni is one of the strongest forces in my life, and she is in dire need of a #kidney,” he tweeted.
Chance, whose given name is Chancelor Bennett, went on to explain that sparking a public search was a last resort to save his aunt’s life.
“We have exhausted all options and have been wait listed for years. My family believes in the power of prayer and we give this problem up to God,” he continued.
“A prayer really goes a long way,” Chance affirmed.
The Grammy Award-winning rapper also shared his aunt’s blood type so that potential donors would be aware of whether or not they were a suitable match.
“I’m sorry it was a lil overwhelmingly emotion writing this, Her blood type is O positive, you can get a quick blood test and physical to find your a match,” he wrote.
Later he expressed hope that his prayers would be answered, writing: “I serve a promise keeping God and his timing’s impeccable.”
