Comedian and actor Charlie Murphy has passed away.
TMZ reports that Murphy passed after a battle with leukemia. According to Murphy’s manager, the comedian had been going undergoing chemotherapy and passed away Wednesday in NYC.
Murphy’s wife, Tisha Taylor Murphy, passed away in 2009 after a battle with cervical cancer.
The actor’s long resume included co-writing Norbit and Vampire in Brooklyn with his brother, Eddie Murphy. He appeared in films like Jungle Fever, Roll Bounce, and The Players Club.
He also became known to many through his recurring role on Chappelle’s Show, where he recounted hilarious celebrity stories that included stars like Prince and Rick James.
The comedian had recently gone on tour with Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, George Lopez and D.L. Hughley.
