The dancing that nearly broke the internet this summer has caused the star behind it to take a break from the spotlight.
Live Nation announced that Childish Gambino has to postpone the remaining stops on his “This Is America” tour “due to an injury.” In a press release, Live Nation added that Gambino will resume his tour “later this year.”
Earlier reports claimed that the rapper broke his foot during a performance in Dallas, Texas, causing the show to end a full thirty minutes early.
Apparently the 35-year-old actor triggered an old injury while doing splits, a concertgoer told the website. Gambino then reportedly showed up to the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas wearing a leg brace while seated in a wheelchair.
The tour is being rerouted through the West Coast later this year to accommodate the fans who would still like their tickets honored. Those fans who are not attending rescheduled shows are being given the opportunity to exchange or return their tickets.
The tour is the last for Gambino, the rap alter ego of actor and television producer Donald Glover, who is retiring the character at its conclusion.
He is expected back on his feet fairly soon as he is still set to perform at next month’s Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans on October 27.
Get well soon Donald!
