New year! New goals! New energy!
That’s the route Ciara appears to be taking in 2017 by deciding to drop her the last part defamation lawsuit against her ex-fiance Future.
The two have been in an almost year-long legal battle over Future’s disparaging public remarks about Ciara and her husband Russell Wilson.
CiCi hit the ATL rapper with the $15 million lawsuit after he sent out a tweet in February saying, “This bitch got control issues.”
She claimed at the time time that Future’s comments had stopped her from booking gigs. They share a son –two-year-old Future Zahir Wilburn — over whom they’ve also had a custody battle.
Though she dropped the initial libel claim in October, she was still suing Future for what’s called “false light” … alleging Future has made her look like someone she’s not, TMZ reported.
By dropping the last part of her lawsuit against Future this week, with new documents saying the case has been dismissed “with prejudice” (meaning she cannot refile), it looks like the couple is ready to move on.
2016 was a great year for Ciara. Not only did she get engaged and married to Wilson, but she also announced that she was expecting her second child — the couple’s first. She also signed a modeling contract with IMG and was named as the Global Ambassador for beauty brand Revlon.
