Cuba Gooding Jr.’s upcoming BET show, The Book of Negroes, will debut at the MIPCOM television confab opening night gala in Cannes this October. The miniseries, featuring Louis Gossett Jr., Aunjanue Ellis, Ben Chaplin and Lyriq Bent, is based on author Lawrence Hill’s best-selling novel Someone Knows My Name and tells the journey of kidnapped woman Aminata Diallo who survives slavery in the South and ultimately finds freedom in England.
