• Fresh off officiating 33 marriages at the Grammys, Queen Latifah will sing “America the Beautiful” before her home state of New Jersey at Sunday’s Super Bowl. This will be Latifah’s second time performing the tune at the event in four years. Opera singer Renee Fleming will perform the National Anthem while Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will tackle the halftime show. [EW]
• Oxygen’s new reality show Preachers of L.A. was renewed for a second season. The fellas will return soon enough, but the show is currently holding casting auditions in Atlanta, Dallas, New York and Detroit. The second season is slated to air this coming fall.
• MSNBC will launch two new shows in the month of February. Journalist Joy Reid was tapped to host her own talk show beginning February 24th at 2 p.m. The network also recruited journalist Ronan Farrow for the second show. “Ronan and Joy are two of the most thoughtful and impressive journalists out there and I’m excited for what they will bring to the afternoon,” said MSNBC president Phil Griffin. • Toni Braxton’s got a new house! The singer who filed for bankruptcy twice in recent history purchased a three million dollar home in Calabasas, just doors down from Justin Bieber. The home boasts four bedrooms, five bathrooms and features 5,323 square feet of living space. [TMZ]
