• Vanessa Simmons and her longtime boyfriend, Mike Wayans, are expecting their first child! Simmons announced the news via Instagram by sharing a sonogram of their little one. “A little princess on the way,” read the caption. She is reportedly due on February 13th. Simmons’ father, Rev. Run, said, “Our baby is coming into two big families with lots of love and lots of joy. This is my family’s first grandchild, so everybody can’t wait for her arrival.” [E! Online]
• Mary J. Blige’s Foundation For the Advancement of Women Now is getting itself out of hot water with TD Bank. According to legal documents, the bank and the foundation have reached a settlement. The charity was sued last year after defaulting on a $250K loan. FFAWN will pay $125k of the total debt it owed, that’s less than half the original amount. As a result, FFAWN will pay $15,000 immediately and will make 12 payments of $9,166 until the debt is cleared. [TMZ]
• Drake can add a new title to his already lengthy resumé. The rapper will be the Toronto Raptor’s new Global Ambassador. “I am truly honored to be on this stage with these distinguished gentlemen,” said Drake at a press conference. “I am passionate about two things… my family and my city. Being up here made me realize two things… one that I have a new family and two I need to get more neutral suits. I am excited to be a part of a team that I grew up on.” [TGJ]
• Bruno Mars’ equally talented sisters are coming to reality TV. Together, Jamie, Tiara, Tahiti and Presley are teaming up to share their personal and professional lives with WE tv camera crews. The LYLAS will begin airing on November 8th at 9 p.m. The show will follow their move from Hawaii to Los Angeles in an attempt to launch their music career in the midst of several obstacles.
