Orange is the New Black star, Danielle Brooks has been making her mark on the silver screen for 4 seasons. The actress has expanded her portfolio to include a SAG award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy. More recently, she’s snagged a spot on the hit Broadway musical, The Color Purple where she stars alongside Jennifer Hudson as Sophia.
This week the actress attended an AOL Build Speaker series to discuss her Broadway role. In addition to dishing on her fabulous acting career, she unknowingly offered us a few lessons in casual glam, pairing an all black ensemble with a subtle smoky eye, balmy lips and kohl-lined eyes. On the market for a quick and easy weekend look that still looks polished? Take a cue from Brooks and up the ante on a matte base with a rosy blush, groomed brows and a little highlighter on your cheeks and nose. To keep the look casual, stick with balmy lips.
Why We’re Still Obsessed with Danielle Brooks’ SAG Awards Makeup
For a little edge, line your water line with a waterproof kohl liner and a rose gold shimmery shadow on your lids and the bow of your lip. For day wear, top your lashes with lengthening mascara, and add two coats of volumizing mascara to your outer lashes before you head out at night. Quick. Easy. Fabulous!
