Deborah Cox is getting candid in an upcoming episode of Unsung.
The R&B singer has had an enviable career, working with legends like Clive Davis and Whitney Houston, and dropping one of the most iconic songs in R&B history, “Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here.”
In a new clip from the episode, which airs Sunday, Cox talks about the time she spent with Houston when the pair worked together on the late singer’s song, “Same Script, Different Cast.”
“I remember a lot of good times, a lot of good talks about family,” Cox says in the clip. “She would always say, ‘When you gon’ have them babies, girl! When you gon’ have them babies!'”
Cox later decided to start a family after she realized that music wasn’t the only thing she wanted out of life. The singer and her husband, Lascelles Stephens, also her high school sweetheart, welcomed their first child, Isaiah, in 2003. Two daughters, Sumayah and Kaila Michelle, followed.
The episode also features legendary music exec Clive Davis, who calls Cox a “natural on stage.”
Cox’s episode of Unsung airs Sunday, March 18 at 9 p.m. ET on TV One.
