Denzel Washington is coming back to Broadway.
The Oscar-winning actor will lead a new production of Eugene O’Neill’s The Iceman Cometh this spring, it was announced Sunday night.
The play will run for a limited 14-week engagement at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, with previews beginning on March 22, 2018, and opening night set for April 26.
No other casting has been announced yet. Scott Rudin is producing the revival, with George C. Wolfe (Shuffle Along, The Normal Heart) set to direct.
Washington was last on Broadway in the 2014 revival of A Raisin in the Sun. He won a Tony Award for his leading role in the 2010 revival of August Wilson’s Fences, a role he reprised in the play’s 2016 film adaptation.
