“The world’s greatest entertainer” Doug E. Fresh kept his crowd hype at the Coca Cola Art of Hip-Hop Superlounge on Friday night at the ESSENCE Festival, following his buddy and partner in rhyme Slick Rick’s set.
He took the crowd on a groovy trip down memory lane, asking them if they remembered things as random as the theme songs to ‘The Jeffersons’ or ‘Cheers’. But the “Get Fresh Crew” member did something even more fun than that by asking his DJ to play Cali Swag District’s 2010 single “Teach Me How to Dougie.”
The Dougie, of course, is Fresh’s signature dance move. And Doug took it back, slicking back his hair like he did when it was big and full ages ago (now he rocks a low cut Caesar). And the “grown and sexy crowd” appreciated his moves.
