R&B crooner Eric Benet has a smooth, signature sound that has resulted in several classic slow jams over the years and now he’s gearing up to wow fans once again with his latest project, Eric Benet.
An effortlessly talented vocalist whose music has undoubtedly remained a favorite among the ladies throughout the course of his career, Benet’s newest track will surely gain him a few brownie points with the newest little lady in his life: his 2-year-old daughter Amoura Luna.
Given that he’s written songs for both of his other daughters in the past, the proud father of 3 says it was equally as important to show baby girl number 3 just as much love with a musical ode of her own. “Before I even became a father, as the youngest of five siblings I used to wonder if my parents loved my older siblings more because they came first,” he told ESSENCE. “I’ve written songs about my oldest (India) and my second oldest (Lucia) so it was important to write something for my youngest.”

Elaborating further on the song’s meaning, Eric tells us he wanted to make sure his youngest child fully appreciated her special and unique place in his heart. “I wanted Luna to have a song that was very much her own and also address some of the thoughts I had as a child,” he continued. “She can listen to this song now as a lullaby and hopefully when she’s a young woman going through life’s changes she can play it and understand her significance not only in my life but in this world.”
