What inspired Melanie Fiona’s new album, The MF Life? Her girlfriends.
In this behind-the-scenes look at the recording process for MF Life, her sophomore album, Melanie shares why sisterhood is the key ingredient to everything she does. “I do believe in the sisterhood, ‘each one, teach one,'” she says. “It is about sharing your experiences with other women.”
On songs like “I’ve Been That Girl,” the Grammy winner gets personal, letting listeners know that she’s been the woman who gave her everything to a man who did not reciprocate. “We’re all not really that different even though there are different players involved,” she says.
