When you look at fitness model and healthy lifestyle guru Max “The Body” Philisaire, you can tell he means business. Not all personal trainers are created equal, and for Philisaire, perfection is about truly helping his clients live their best life. “I think what I do is so much more than just personal training,” says Philisaire. “A trainer doesn’t always discuss nutrition. That’s pretty important. I’m all about the fundamentals and the approach. It’s about balance and an entire lifestyle.”
Philisaire fell in love with fitness early on. He was a thin man, and when he decided to workout and build muscle to boost his self-confidence, he was surprised at how fast his hard work and dedication paid off. People loved his new look, and many men and women suggested he even train them, too. “The more compliments I received, the more committed I became to offering a training service,” he explains.
It’s safe to say fitness isn’t just a career for Philisaire; it’s a hobby, too. This heartthrob heads to the gym five days a week, ladies—at a minimum—and if he’s really feeling good, he admits that sometimes he gets “a little excited” and stays there longer than he should.
Lovely Leo Philisaire celebrates his birthday August 10, and this year he’ll be turning 33. Born in Haiti to an Afro-Haitian father and mother, at the tender age of eight, he came to the U.S. with his parents who migrated the family to south Florida.
Philisaire, who currently resides in Los Angeles, works independently with his professional and celebrity clients in-home and at the gym. He tells us his approach is 100 percent hands on, and he loves it. The hunky fitness-fanatic began his career as a personal trainer back in 2005.
“People need motivation,” insists Philisaire. “They want the results you have, but they don’t always have the motivation to do the work they need to do. That’s part of my purpose. I want to share what I have that others may not to also help them achieve their goals. It’s very fulfilling!”
“I get so much more out of helping others than I ever did from achieving my own fitness goal,” says Philisaire. “My life is not about selfish goals. I’m all about my community. It’s exciting!”
“Sometimes, my clients motivate me,” Philisaire says. “I don’t always feel like eating right or working out, but then I remember there are so many people looking up to me and looking to me to motivate them. It inspires me to just keep going. We motivate each other.”
Be sure to add bravery and courage to Philisaire’s list of sexy qualities. He’s a U.S. military combat war veteran. While deployed in Iraq, he used his bodybuilding training as a survival tool to keep himself and his fellow soldiers motivated and in shape.
When he’s not living in the gym, Philisaire dedicates his time to writing and perfecting a screenplay that’s close to his heart. The film is a drama about a war veteran who returns home and struggles to adapt to everyday life. “It has been very therapeutic for me to write,” he admits. “The movie will be for people who have dealt with post-traumatic stress and other issues with adjusting. It’s not something I dealt with personally, but I know a lot of soldiers who did.”
Listen up all you brilliant beauties: Philisaire finds his wisdom to be one of his strongest qualities, which means he’ll love a woman who exhibits the same.
For any single lady living in Los Angles and hoping to bump into this chocolate delight in passing, you may want to head to the movie theater or the beach. Philisaire loves both, and says he appreciates a woman he can have a lot in common with.
“I want love, but I’m not going to look for it,” says Philisaire, whose relationship status is “single” at the moment. “I’m open to it, but I won’t be looking for it. I’m just going to stay focused.”
