Fabolous might just be able to avoid jail time for assaulting the mother of his children this past Spring.
Fabolous was charged with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats in April after the rapper reportedly knocked out his girlfriend Emily Bustamante’s front teeth and told her he would “hit her in the head with a baseball bat.” A video of the rapper violently lashing out at his girlfriend and her father also went viral.
According to Bossip, the rapper appeared in Bergen County Superior Court in New Jersey this week with a plan to plead guilty to a lesser charge. He will now likely be sentenced to attend a pre-trial intervention program for first-time offenders.
“If Fab successfully completes it, his charges could be wiped clean from his record,” Bossip reports.
The former Love & Hip Hop couple is said to have argued over text in March when Fabolous found out that his long-term girlfriend was in Los Angeles without his knowledge.
Bustamante told police that Fabolous texted that he wanted to “hit her in the head with a baseball bat” and that he would “kill her” but he “did not want to go out like that,” NorthJersey.com reports.
When she called her father and brother to her home to move Fabolous’ two guns, “due to her fear that they may be used against her,” he also threatened her family.
“Emily says she feared for her life and remembered Fabolous has 2 handguns in their home in Englewood, NJ — so, she called her father to remove them before Fab got home. She told cops … Fabolous was infuriated when he arrived at the house to find her father and brother there and went to look for his guns,” according to TMZ.
The couple has since made up, sharing photos of each other and appearing in public together.
