What: Michelle Obama’s Marchesa gown
Where: The annual White House Correspondent’s Association Gala at the Washington Hilton hotel in Washington, D.C.
Why: The annual gala repeatedly finds the First Lady in the sleekest threads. Last year, a black beaded Monique Lhuillier number stole the scene, but this year the First fashion maven selected a different American red carpet designer: Marchesa, and it most certainly lived up to chic expectations. On a lighter note than last year, this year’s gown was a soft grey draped-shoulder style in embroidered tulle, a similar look we’ve seen before at the 2009 Inaugural Ball. Bravo on another fab shoulder-baring moment, Mrs.O!
