The artist’s latest post on his much-followed Tumblr page has sparked renewed speculation among his fanbase
Frank Ocean has given fans renewed hope that he’ll be active in 2018 after posting a picture on his Tumblr page which included the statement “IF YOU LIKED 2017, YOU’LL LOVE…2018”.
After a prolonged absence, Ocean returned with two full-length records in 2016 – ‘Endless’ and ‘BLONDE’ – and followed that up with a busy 2017, which included the release of a slew of stand-alone singles, the arrival of new merchandise, and the debut of his BEATS 1 radio show ‘BLONDED’.
Taking to his Tumblr page – which Ocean uses as his sole method of communication with his fans – last night, Ocean posted a photo of one of his friends wearing a hat which features the cryptic message “IF YOU LIKED 2017, YOU’LL LOVE…2018”.
Ocean signed off the mysterious photo with the equally-mysterious caption “new 18-99”, sparking speculation that new music may soon be on the way.
Back in November, Ocean appeared to hint at the possibility of a new album release in another Tumblr post which appeared to make reference to a tweet he posted in 2012 when he declared that he wanted to release “5 albums before 30”.
