Gabrielle Union isn’t here for any of Stacey Dash’s nonsense. In fact, she’d like to forget about her all together.
After Dash’s comments on Fox & Friends last week regarding the irrelevance of BET’s existence, CBS News reports the Being Mary Jane actress had her own words for the actress.
Did Stacey Dash Just Say There Shouldn’t Be a Black History Month?
“Who’s that?,” Union asked CBS facetiously at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. “Who’s Stacey Dash? Is she, like, related to Dame Dash? Was she on Roc-A-Fella (Records)?”
Union, who stars on the BET series, said awards show like the NAACP Image Awards and BET’s annual award celebration are a necessity for the Black community in order to honor each other’s accomplishments.
“If you don’t see yourself reflected in mainstream awards, you tend to create your own,” Union added. “The more that we focus on inclusion and a true representation of this country, I think that crazy lady will have less to say.”
Amen to that.
