Geoffrey Owens has booked another acting job thanks to one Trader Joe’s customer refusing to mind her business.
The former Cosby Show star, who was job shamed for working at the grocery store in a now viral photo, will appear in a guest role on NCIS: New Orleans.
According to TMZ, producers of the hit CBS crime series reached out to Owens and offered him a role on the show after learning that he was supplementing his acting income by working at the popular supermarket chain. Owens revealed recently that he’s since had to quit from Trader Joe’s due to the attention.
Owens’ episode where he will guest star is set to air in late October.
Sources said that Owens’ character will be “an old and valued friend” of the series’ lead character.
This isn’t the first upside Owens has seen after a viral photo of him working at Trader Joe’s was snapped without his permission. Tyler Perry offered him a 10-episode arc on the next season of The Haves and the Have Nots, and Nicki Minaj offered him $25,000 cash.
The picture may have been snapped in an effort to throw shade, but it’s turned out to be one heck of a business card.
We look forward to seeing Owens flourish in the future!
