The beautiful and talented Jennifer Hudson turns 31 today! From winning the Oscar for an impressive performance in 2006 for Dreamgirls to putting out two amazing albums and giving birth to a beautiful baby boy named David, Ms. Hudson has accomplished quite a bit in her 31 years.
There is nothing that can hold back this Chicago native. She’s overcome trials and tribulations to become the strong woman we all admire. Most recently, the starlet opened up to Oprah Winfrey about the murder conviction of William Balfour. Hudson said she forgives him for murdering her mother, brother and nephew in 2008. “For the most part it’s not his fault,” said Hudson. “It’s like what he was taught and how he was brought up. We tried to offer love. He was so far gone he couldn’t even see that. He never had a chance.”
Despite 2012 being a rocky time for Hudson and her family, she’s moving full steam ahead with a number of projects including the release of The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete later this year, as well as the upcoming and Lullaby and Black Nativity, which are slated to hit theaters next year. If that wasn’t enough, Hudson has landed a recurring role on NBC’s new musical show, Smash.
On a personal front, she’s still planning a wedding to fiancé David Otunga and says she wants a little girl, but plans to wait until her son is five years old. “I need him to help mommy out,” said Hudson. “I’ve got a whole plan.”
Happy Birthday, Jennifer Hudson!
