There’s nothing better than kids of celebrities carving out their own lane. Holly Robinson Peete’s daughter, Ryan, is doing just that as a freshman college student.
The 19-year-old, who attends New York University, has a budding music career, already performing in intimate venues. We’ve seen the range of Ryan’s voice from videos her mother posted to Instagram, and it’s safe to say the girl can hold her own.
“It’s official… I am THAT mom,” the actress captioned a post of Ryan singing. “#forpeetessake I am Proud of my #nyu freshman @clivedavisinst @ryan___peete interprets #amywinehouse#wakeupalone #theprequel @nyutisch”

In the video, Ryan sings an Amy Winehouse cover in a chic, red dress. We last saw the talent, who is a part of the Clive Davis Institute at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, moving into her dorm room on her family’s OWN reality show, For Peete’s Sake.
“With mothers and daughters it’s a very different dynamic,” Holly told ABC News in a 2014 interview about raising her daughter who suffers from ADHD. “We see ourselves in our daughters. We want them to be a certain way. We get more frustrated with our girls if they’re not acting a certain way.”
“You have to stop and listen and take these esoteric moments and look your daughter in the eye and say, ‘Sweetie, what are you feeling? What’s going on in your life?'”
Holly and Rodney Peete share three other children ages 19, 14 and 12 years old.
