Insecure actor Kendrick Sampson is not here for ghosting, unlike his onscreen character, Nathan.
In the hit HBO series’ third season, we see Nathan completely ghost his onscreen love interest, Issa Dee, played by creator Issa Rae, for an entire episode. Only to come back in the season three finals holding flowers. Boy bye.
Sampson stopped by ESSENCE, where he admitted that he’s “ghosted on somebody before” but said it takes a lot for him to do it.
“You gotta do a lot, though, you gotta do a lot. I’m a communicator. I’m an over-communicator a lot of the time,” Sampson revealed. “I want to know everything. I want to know details.”
Sampson’s thoughts on ghosting are timely considering his
Insecure character, Nathan, pulled the move on Issa after disappearing for a month. Fans of the HBO hit were left wondering what was up, pointing to clues that Nathan’s decision to ghost Issa
may be tied to depression.
The actor added that ghosting is a “huge pet peeve,” adding that he’s been the victim of ghosting “too many times.”I know how it feels,” he added. “That sh-t is heartbreaking.”
And in fact, Sampson said he was recently a victim of ghosting himself.
“This girl ghosted on me and hit me up today. I ain’t even gon’ answer right now,” the actor said, later admitting, “But I’ma answer a little bit later. I want to know, like, ‘Where you was at?”
Aww!
