If we were to go on a dream glamping trip we’d probably bring along these three beauties: Issa Rae, Cynthia Erivo and Michaela Coel.
Last weekend the trio were in Hollywood for the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) and pre-Oscars events. Issa, the creator and executive producer of HBO’s Insecure was honored for her work at the ABFF and received a NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series.
Cynthia got one step closer to an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) with her recent Grammy win for Best Musical Theater Album for the cast recording of The Color Purple. And Michaela has been lauded for her hilarious Netflix show Chewing Gum.
While driving they sang to SWV’s “Weak” showing off their car vocal skills.
Issa also shared a silly video where Michaela adjusts her lace-front wig and they smile for the camera.
In addition to being awesome creators, the ladies are all first-generation Africans. Issa is Senegalese, Michaela is Ghanaian and Cynthia is Nigerian. More importantly, the overflow of #BlackGirlMagic is giving us all the joy.
