The premiere of Insecure’s second season is right around the corner and creator and star Issa Rae has been making the rounds to talk about what fans can expect.
Recently, Rae stopped by The Breakfast Club, where she touched on the explosive season one finale. Talking to the show’s hosts, Rae dished on her own relationship transgressions and the three categories of ho-dom.
Following Charlamagne Tha God’s question about when women start their ho phase, Rae explained that there are actually three kinds of ho phases.
“There’s the first category of women, not everybody partakes, some women are just like you know, ‘I wanna meet my king’ and they give it up to those men in that specific category. Then, I think, there are some women who engage and they’re like ‘I’m about to have fun’ you know, ‘I’m about to go out there and do me. I’m about to f**k all I can. I’m about to get my numbers up.’ Unfortunately those women are relegated to a specific category in guy’s eyes as hos.”
She added that there’s a third category of women, who “double-dutch into ho-ery,” deciding who and how many people to sleep with whenever she likes.
Rae perfectly breaks down the phases, while explaining that women are often held to a different standard than men when it come to sowing their wild oats.
